This morning, on my way to the mountains, I stumbled upon a large group of Black Kites (Milvus migrans). I guess there were almost one hundred of them. Most of them were circling round in the air in a northwards direction, some of them were feeding on the ground and flying off.
As I got a bit closer to where they were gathering on the ground in order to get a better look, the birds were not bothered at all by my presence. I was so astonished by this spectacle that I forgot to take tons of photos: an almost unforgivable mistake.
I saw these magnificent birds near the town of Bornos, Spain, while they were on a migration route returning from the south, advancing slowly more inland.
